Travel & Accommodation

Travel

Dunoon is accessible to travel to either by road or by ferry.

By Road
Drive west along the A83 (Rest and Be Thankful), then turn left onto the A815, which takes you directly into Dunoon. Before setting off, we recommend checking the latest updates on the road’s condition here.

By Ferry (Car + Passenger)
The Western Ferries service runs regularly from McInroy’s Point, Gourock, carrying both vehicles and passengers. Further information on tickets and sailing times can be accessed here. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance for a discounted rate.

By Ferry (Passenger Only)
For those travelling without a car, the CalMac ferry connects Gourock to Dunoon. This service links with the Glasgow Central – Gourock ScotRail train, making it a straightforward option from the city. Timetables and ticket details can be found here.
